The essence of the interior architecture involved bringing in the massing and stome from the exterior podium level of the building; The flared stone bases on the columns, the shallow arches, the circle cutouts with the metal Texas star. Through the lounge, you can get the first views of the atrium, a Gaylord Resort staple.
The central corridor leading to the elevator core. The reception counter can be seen to the left. Again, the massing a continuation of the exterior of the building.
The resort uses stylistic themes drawn from the Texas context and history. The central meeting room component is centered around a "mission style" hall with it's Spanish cast stone, tile, and plaster detailing. The architecture in the San Diego's 'Del Mar fairgrounds' was inspiration for some of the detailing.
